What Is Your Passion-Be An Example (Part 2)

What is your passion? What is the ministry that God has placed in your spirit? Are you running from your calling? Are you operating in the ministry God has for you, but He is ready to take you to the next level?

Growing up I had lots of friends come and go. I was more mature than those I hung out with, so it was hard for me to get along with them. When I got to be sixteen I felt like a loser, so I began to pray to God for a friend. I had been going through something and I wanted someone to hangout with, talk to, someone to listen, someone to be there for me and I could be there for them.

I prayed this prayer for a year. I ended up going to a prayer summit at my church and I met this woman. We began to talk, she gave me her number and we became great friends. Little did I know that she would become my mentor. I found myself sharing things that concerned me. Things I was scared to tell my mom. She began to speak life into me and help me understand my situation. I was able to see things from other perspectives and lean on God for the answers. She not only became a mentor but a mother to me.

As I matured in the Lord, He began to bring younger girls into my life. He has allowed me to be a big sister to them. I have been able to share my struggles with them let them share their struggles with me and help them mature in the Lord. I couldn’t understand why theses young ladies were so drawn to me. The personalities varied and I had to learn how to approach each of them, with different issues. I finally realized that God provided me with someone that showed me the way and now I was my turn to show others the way. I feel strongly about helping those younger than me so they don’t have to live an unfulfilled life. I know where I have been and partly where I’m going. Some need the help I have had. I want them to live a life of abundance in the light of God and dream without limits.

My passion is young people. God has allowed me to be part of many lives. The trials have come and yes it gets frustrating. Yes, I have days when I don’t want to help anyone but myself. Yes, the enemy has tried to kill me and shut me up. But God has taken me past my limits and He renews my strength. So again I say to you, what’s your passion? Where is God calling you? Are you listening to His voice?

Scripture Reference:

Titus 2:1-6 says, “1You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. 2Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. 3Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. 6Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.
