2014 The Year Of Transformation!

By Angela Willingham

2014-01-05

On January 1, 2014, I asked myself the question, "Angela Willingham, what do you want to see differently or do differently in 2014?" We always see the new year and think of New Years Resolutions, but I did not want a new years resolution, I wanted a real change. I listened to TD Jakes say that 2014 is the year of transformation and I knew what I wanted. I want to finish what I started. I want ...to walk in all that I have been purposed to do and I want to be healthy and fit from the inside out. I looked around me to determine what had stopped me before and the answer is that no one can stop us but us. Allowing myself to be deterred by distractions and losing sight of my goals. Listening to to many opinions and not staying focused. My major goal is to be fit on the outside to reflect the changes that have taken place on the inside. I looked at the success stories, Yasmin Somoza Duran (you are doing an awesome job), Teri Greenidge (she lost over 40lbs and looks skinny to me), Patricia Duran (when she is not teaching Zumba and being the Zumba Lady, she is hiking and working it out with her family, which means her entire family is included in this fitness thing. She said she is getting to skinny...her clothes were loose but she looks happy and healthy), Gina Gi just told me the other day that she is working on becoming a Health Coach and Drucila Nuñez-Clark is a great all around Zumba instructor and those are just a few of the people I know. TD Jakes, I agree with you, 2014 is the year of transformation. My transformation. Time to finish what we started!!!!

Who Has God Sent To Bless You?

By Angela Willingham

2013-09-09

Who is God speaking to on your behalf?  Who has He been talking to about blessing you?  Pastor Ron Carpenter has been preaching from the book of Ruth.  He shared how God was speaking to Boaz about blessing Ruth long before he ever met her.  I was thinking about this and realized that He has shown me favor with those I do not know also.  I told you I went to Dallas to Megafest.  What I did not tell you was that I went with a friend I met on Facebook.  She got the tickets before we ever met.  Two months before the conference she invited me to join her.  We had never met in person, but had connected on FB.  Neither of us can remember when or how we met, but we know that we have forged a great sisterhood.  To all who do not know me let me be real.  This is not something I would have ever done, my local girls not going.  My running buddies are not all locked in for the adventure?  But if I had not stepped out in faith and accepted her invitation I would have missed out.  I believe that step of faith is part of my destiny.  I have no idea where God is taking me or with whom.  She said "Angela, I have the tickets, a motel room and a rental car, all you need is your plane ticket  to Dallas.  I said I will get someone to pick me up at the airport, so she would not have to miss anything.  Her response was "nobody is picking you up but me."  Tell me that God was not speaking to someone on my behalf.  I needed that trip.  I was ministered to in every session I attended, prepared and equipped to continue towards the destiny God had purposed for me.  I don't know who else He is talking to on my behalf, but through wisdom and discernment, I hope and pray I will not miss anything He has for me.  Keep your eyes open so that you will not miss what He has for you.  Thank you Sandra McKinley.

Breaking Points by Sheldon Bass

"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." (1 Cor. 10:13 NIV)

Harvey was accustomed to fishing in freshwater lakes. But now, we were taking him shark fishing in Florida. He tells the story of shopping for the right fishing rod and reel, which could stand up to the strain of a 200 pound saltwater shark.

Harvey did a lot of research beforehand. He wanted to know the exact breaking point: how many pounds of pressure the rods and reels could withstand before they'd snap. The stores didn't have that information, but the manufacturers did. It's a good thing he called them; Harvey ended up catching the biggest shark.

Our creator knows more about every aspect of our being than we do. He's intimately familiar with each of his creations of love. And He is fully aware of our breaking point: how much we can endure, which is usually much more than we think. It takes intense heat and tons of pressure to form a quality diamond. He's shaping us into strong, beautiful Christ-like people that He will treasure for eternity.

God will never give us more than we can handle along with His help.
