   Welcome to the New Beginnings Health and Fitness Ministries family. We consider it a privilege to support your fitness efforts. We welcome your suggestions and ideas, so please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your experience with the monthly newsletter, website, weekly messages or message board more beneficial. It is our prayer to bring you words of encouragement and inspiration to motivate you to become fit physically, emotionally, spiritually and relationally. This is your New Beginning and we want to make it an awesome experience for you. As you begin this new adventure we are praying for you.

  Who are we?

NewBeginnings is a wellness ministry established in 2003 by Carroll Roberts to offer a holistic approach to fitness that includes mind, body and spirit. A wellness ministry also serves to help people help themselves through physical and spiritual exercise and health education. At New Beginnings we believe good health is a gift from God and can be obtained by following biblical principles as we lead a balanced life physically, mentally, spiritually and relationally

  What’s New?

Watch out for our next challenge. The Lord has put it on Angela’s heart to start a personal challenge. The challenge will cause us to get real and be personal about out weight loss and fitness challenges. Begin to pray now about your participation in “Angela’s 90 Day Holistic Fitness Challenge”. We will be dealing with our physical, spiritual, relational and emotional fitness. Watch the site and the message board for information on this new challenge. Angela told us to tell you to start praying now, because this challenge is going to cause us all to be transparent. She will be posting her weight, measurements, weight loss challenges, as well as her spiritual, emotional and relational challenges.

She is a little nervous, because God is going to take us to a new level in transparency and supporting each other. She has shared that on her own this is an impossible task, but she knows and wants you to know that we can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us and we can do this. Ask God to show you where you are in these different areas. She will be posting her diary on the message board for the world to see, so pray for her. In Hebrews 12:1, the bible says, “Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

We are going to do it together, with God’s help and under the direction of our fearless leader and coach “The Master Builder/Fitness Angel, himself, Carroll Roberts. No, Angela will not be receiving personal training for the challenge she will receive coaching from “His Royal Highness” just like everyone else through the message board and exercise classes. She will share everything with you that he shares with her. Remember this is not a competition, but an encouragement challenge.

  Questions For The Master Builder

The Master Builder has expressed his concern that no one appears to need his help. The only message under his topic is the one he wrote to welcome everyone to the site. New Beginnings Family you have an awesome opportunity to submit your physical fitness questions to our CEO and Certified Personal Trainer and get his feedback. Please do not miss this opportunity. He cares about you and desires to see you reach your weight loss goals. Submit your questions to him on the message board under his Topic-Fitness Advice From The Master Builder. He has over 16 years of experience, if he can’t help you I do not know who can, so let’s put him to work. He is responsible for us.

  What Are You Eating

Does your weight loss plan seem to be stalled?
Are you working out daily and the inches are coming off but the process seems slow? Well it may be what you are eating or not eating.
At New Beginnings Health and Fitness Ministries, Inc., we encourage our community to:

  • eat five small meals per day instead of three big meals
  • plan your meals and your between meal snacks
  • eat the biggest meal of the day at either breakfast or lunch not at night
  • finish eating all of your meals at least 2 hours before going to bed
  • drink at least 6-8 eight ounce glasses of water per day
  • increase your intake of fruits and vegetables to between 5-9 per day
  • read labels to ensure the foods you are eating are not high in fat, sodium or sugar content

Let us know if any of these suggestions are helpful by discussing it on the message board.

  The Race

Special thanks and congratulations to the teams that participated in
the 1st Annual Carolyn O’Neil Fitness Race.

We got off to a slow start but those who participated appeared to have a great time and we look forward to doing it again next MAY.Stay tuned for the final race results we are still awaiting the posting of the final numbers. Check out the site to see the race results so far.

It is our prayer that through your participation your church, group or organization will never be the same individually or corporately. If your church or organization did not have the opportunity to participate in the Fitness Race, you can still start to do something now. Here are some options:

 Workout Options

  • Walk with your co-workers or fellow students at lunch or after work
  • Start a walking club in your neighborhood
  • Go to the gym
  • Join an exercise or aerobics class
  • Start swimming or water aerobics in your backyard or neighbors pool (with their permission)
  • Check out some exercise videos and other exercise equipment
  • Check out “The Fitness Angel Show” it is still playing 24/7

  Journaling Reminder

How is it going? Have you started journaling? Journaling is an excellent way for you to keep track of your successes and challenges? Start journaling. Journal what you eat and how you feel when you eat. Write whatever comes to your mind and then try to understand what makes you feel the way you do. Was it something that happened? Was it an experience you had yesterday, last year or as a child that you are revisiting? Whatever it is journaling your feelings, thoughts and actions will help you to get to the root of your eating triggers and your workout issues.

  Peacekeeper or Peacemaker

Which one are you, a peacekeeper or a peacemaker? Women tend to be peacekeepers. We desire to keep everything in its proper place and not to make any waves. Why, because we are concerned about the rejection that we might experience if we say something so we keep quiet when we know we should speak up. We back away from relationships instead of confronting the issues that are causing the relationship to go in the wrong direction. Peacemakers confront things that they know are wrong because those things, dishonor God, are hurting the person that is involved in them or the thing is hurting our relationship with another individual. Peacekeepers, keep the peace at the expense of having genuine, open, honest, loving relationships. Are you a peacekeeper or a peacemaker?

Our Mission is to draw individuals to Jesus Christ through the Ministry of Health and Fitness and to see the Body of Christ become fit in all areas by providing tools and information to empower you to succeed.
New Beginnings is dedicated to helping you gain personal, spiritual, physical, mental and relational fitness by developing the courage and confidence necessary to set and achieve goals based on biblical principles.
Most people encounter difficulty reaching goals, sticking with a diet or completing a task by trying to make an outward change without having made any inward spiritual changes. In other words, all improvements in your life begin with a change in your mind and spirit.
