Our Mission Statement

Welcome to the New Beginnings Holistic Fitness Ministries family. We consider it a privilege to support your fitness efforts. We welcome your suggestions and ideas, so please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your experience with the monthly newsletter, website, weekly messages or message board more beneficial. We can be contacted at contactus@mynewtemple.org. It is our prayer to bring you words of encouragement and inspiration to motivate you to become fit physically, emotionally, spiritually and relationally. This is your New Beginning and we want to make it an awesome experience for you. As you begin this new adventure we are praying for you.

Who are we?

New Beginnings is a fitness ministry established in 2003 to offer a holistic approach to fitness that includes mind, body and spirit. A fitness ministry also serves to help people help themselves through physical and spiritual exercise. At New Beginnings we believe good health is a gift from God and can be obtained by following biblical principles as we lead a balanced life physically, mentally, spiritually and relationally.

What’s New?

August 2007 Challenge (continuing the June Challenge-Growing our family)

Our Message Board is live. The New Beginnings Team has put a lot of topics out on the message board and we would like to hear from you. What do you think? The topics fall into the categories of physical, relational, emotional, spiritual fitness, woman to woman, prayer and salvation. Go to the categories, check out the topics that are already there. Read what other family members have written under the specific topics and write to us in response. If what you want to discuss is not listed under any of the other categories, start a new topic in the category it belongs in. If it does not fit anywhere else write about it under “General Discussion!” We need to hear from you. What you think is important to us. Get other people to join our message board so we can get some real conversation started. http://mynewtemple.org/aMessages.html

The New Beginnings Church Link

New Beginnings is a holistic fitness ministry that focuses on becoming fit from the inside out, because we understand that no lasting change can take place unless we first make an inner one. We believe that this is another ministry that God is using to draw people unto Himself. He wants us to know that He cares about every part of us inside and out.

Because the ministry is on the web it has the ability to touch people all over the United States, Canada and in other countries. We need your help to develop our ChurchLlink. The ChurchLink is a group of churches that promote holistic fitness within their congregations. Holistic Fitness is a new concept, however, we believe it is the direction that God wants His people to go. It is not about perfection, it is about progression.

If you know of a church or churches that promote holistic fitness please e-mail their contact information to us at churchlink@mynewtemple.org and we will contact them to see if they would like to be included on the New Beginnings website. Remember because of your relationship with us you are the best individuals to suggest churches that you know exemplify the holistic approach to ministry.

We will keep you posted on the development of the ChurchLink.

Team Member News

The Reverend Kimberley McNeil
Join us in welcoming The Reverend Kimberley McNeil to the New Beginnings Team. Kimberley is our Minister of New Beginnings Community Church Relations.

Kimberley was licensed to preach the gospel in December 2004. She senses the calling on her life is to families and to some day pastor the church of God's choosing.

She is currently continuing her educational pursuits through Ottawa University, where she will obtain a degree in Business Management; and, if God says the same, will begin seminary in fall 2008. Kimberley is also an active member of the Ministry of Motherhood (MOM), through her two gifts from God, Sidney Patrice, and Kenneth Alvin McNeil.

Kimberley is responsible for connecting churches with New Beginnings Holistic Fitness Ministries, Inc. Through this position she provides opportunities for members of the New Beginnings Family to connect to churches and congregations that promote holistic fitness. You can hear Kimberley on many of the podcasts done by and for our women and also check her out by clicking here http://mynewtemple.org/podcasts/19Cycle_bad_rel.mp3. If you would like to ask Kimberley questions, enlist her preaching abilities or suggest churches e-mail her at kimberley@mynewtemple.org

Minister Angela Willingham

Sister Angela Willingham, our President and CEO, has completed her trial sermon to officially become Minister Angela Willingham. For many it was no surprise when she announced God’s calling on her life to the Gospel Ministry. Many said to our sister, “I already knew that I was waiting for you to catch on”. Her Pastor Fredrick L. Fairley, simply stated. “When some people come to you and tell you that they have been called to preach you already know.” She officially preached her trial sermon on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 7pm. (Her Trial Sermon-Your Past is Not Your Future will be available for you to hear via podcast during the week of August 6, 2007, listen for it.)

This date was chosen specifically by Sister, I mean Minister Angela, because of its significance in biblical numerology. Eight is the Number of New Beginnings (also the ministry name), which it why the eighth month is significant. The first day of the month was chosen because one is the number of unity. Ephesians 4:4-6, says 4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. 5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all.

Please be in prayer for her as she walks in the first of many New Beginnings that she believes God has for her. You can contact her at angela@mynewtemple.org.

What Have You Been Reading?

Many of you have read some awesome books that have really ministered to you, spiritually, emotionally, relationally or physically. Let us know what you have been reading by writing to us on the message board. Your recommendations might help someone else.

The Ministries’ Monthly Book Recommendations-

This month we are recommending Reposition Yourself by TD Jakes.

If you believe that God has something for you to do this book will inspire you to rethink what you think and get yourself in the position God wants you to be in to fulfill His vision for you. Check out this inspiring quote from TD Jakes:

"If you don't like the way your life is going, redesign it. Redeem the years you lost. Restore your vision, revive your passion for living and reclaim what was dormant inside of you. I cannot give you the dream but I can give you the tools to reach the dreams you have inside. I have seen what successful people do over and over again. I want to do it, too. I have learned that minor adjustments make a big difference." TD Jakes

Other Recommendations from Our New Beginnings Family:

  • I have read recently "The Prayer of Jabez", by Bruce Wilkinson - it is taken from 1 Chronicles 4:9. Mr. Wilkinson expounds on the prayer of a man named Jabez and how God answered this short, simple, yet very powerful prayer:

Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him in pain. And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that I might not cause pain! So God granted him what he requested".

Mr. Wilkinson tells how we, too can experience the blessings of God thru praying like Jabez. This book was a blessing just to read it and it has helped to enhance my prayer experiences.
  • I've also read, "Praying by the Power of the Spirit" by Neil Anderson.
[/i]"Praying by the Power of the Spirit" reinforces the truth that prayer is a relationship, not a ritual - and as a child of God who is already accepted by Him in Christ, you have open access to your Father and are free to be honest with Him.

This book has truly changed my prayer life. It "goes deep" and helps you to break free from what may be keeping your prayers from being answered.
  • I am currently reading, "The Secret of Happiness", by Billly Graham. Taken from the "Beattitudes" in Matthew 5, this book is aiding me in my search for inner peace, true happiness, and joy by showing me how to look for them in the "right" places.

"Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous - with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, and the persecuted."

Check out these recommendations and let us know what you think by writing to us on the message board http://mynewtemple.org/aMessages.html.

Ministries To Watch

God has given us the awesome opportunity to connect with various ministries all doing different things to affect and change the Kingdom for His purposes. We want to turn your attention this month to an awesome ministry Today’s Leading Ladies International Ministries and it’s CEO Minister Tracy Butler.

We had the awesome opportunity to connect with her several months ago, when she was working to develop interest in the Today’s Leading Ladies Quarterly Journal that God had instructed and blessed her to produce. At that time the journal was a major vision that God had given to her and it was a few pages. It was small, but the bible tells us in Job8:7: And though you started with little, you will end with much.

The journal has now become an on-line magazine. We encourage you to check out the work that God is doing through Minister Tracy Butler and Today’s Leading Ladies by visiting her website at http://www.todaysleadingladiesministries.org/index.html. Subscribe to the on-line journal. We promise you will be blessed.

Upcoming Events

Monthly Book/Bible Study Blog
We are presently working on a Monthly Book/Bible Study Blog. This will allow us to read through a Christian book or book of the bible together each month and share our thoughts and the revelations that God gives us through it. You will see what the leader of the monthly study got from it and also be able share what you see. We expect to have the blog up and running within the next week so keep your eyes on the site..

The first book we will be studying together is “Lord, I Want To Be Whole”, by Stormie Omartian. The book deals with becoming healed emotionally. So many of us have experienced things that the enemy is using to try to hold us back. You wonder why you can’t lose the weight or stay focused on anything. You wonder why you keep making the same mistakes over and over again, getting involved in the same types of unhealthy relationships? In this book Stormie will help us learn how to release the past, live in obedience to God, recognize and resist the real enemy and more. The book can be purchased at any Christian bookstore or on-line at Amazon.com. Pick up your copy today so that you will be ready to start with us next week when we go live with the Monthly Book/Bible Study Blog. We are excited.

Check out the podcasts and weekly articles to see what God is doing through New Beginnings and then don’t keep it to yourself, please spread the word. www.mynewtemple.org.

Word of Encouragement

Several weeks ago, we had the awesome and blessed opportunity to hear an interview with Dr. Teresa Hairston on TBN. She is the founder of Gospel Today Magazine. She shared that she started with $300. She was divorced with 3 kids and no experience. She started with 4 pages and people laughed at her. She said 4 pages went to 8, 8 to 16, etc. All we want to say to you is that if God has given you a dream, a purpose, or a vision stand no matter what. Dr. Hairston had challenges and look where she is today. We have all seen Gospel Today magazine.

 She gave this advice

  • Don't despise small beginnings
  •  You must have an intimate relationship with God
  •  Write down the plan
  •  This is a process. There is pain in the process.
  •  Learn to tell God you don't know.
  •  Be faithful over the little stuff
  •  God challenges us to trust Him to go through the faith test to be prepared for what is coming.
  •  We won't see the manifestation of the favor until we step out.
  •  Focus on the thing God said He would provide.
  •  Talk about what God said you were going to be.
  •  Start small. Start where you can start

If you find yourself in a place where you are going through. Things just don’t make sense, but you know that God has told you to do something, He has made a promise to you please keep this word of encouragement close by. Dr. Hairston was on point. As it relates to the New Beginnings Ministry we have gone through many challenges, but in each place God was there. Stay faithful and stand on what God said no matter what it looks like in the natural and no matter what others may say. You have to stand on what He told you. On occasion you may get sidetracked, but whatever you do, don’t back up, don’t give up and don’t take your eyes off God.

New Beginnings Scriptures for August 2007

Isaiah 14:27:
27 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has spoken—
 who can change his plans?
 When his hand is raised,
 who can stop him?
”(NLT)

  Our Mission Statement

Our Mission is to draw individuals to Jesus Christ through the Ministry of Holistic Fitness and to see the Body of Christ become fit in all areas by providing tools and information to empower you to succeed. New Beginnings is dedicated to helping you gain personal, spiritual, physical, mental and relational fitness by developing the courage and confidence necessary to set and achieve goals based on biblical principles. Most people encounter difficulty reaching goals, sticking with a diet or completing a task by trying to make an outward change without having made any inward spiritual changes. In other words, all improvements in your life begin with a change in your mind and spirit.
