Steps To Deliverance!
Step 1: Acknowledgement
Step 2: Admission
Step 3: Decision
Step 4: Move Forward-Deliverance is a process
The first step to receiving true deliverance is to acknowledge that there is something that you need to be delivered from. This is for you. If you are not aware of what you need to be delivered from seek God through prayer. Ask Him to show you what He sees when He looks at you. Ask Him to show you what He wants you to be delivered from so that He can restore what has been taken from you.
The second step is to admit the need for deliverance from whatever it is to God. Admit to God that you cannot get delivered on your own. Many of us have tried that and been unsuccessful. We have gotten involved in twelve step programs, read all the self help books about our little issue, attempted to go cold turkey or the Christian alternative of fasting from whatever it is until we no longer have a desire for it or the desire goes away only to find out that we are back in the same place we started because we missed an important step.
The third step is to make a decision to do whatever is necessary to complete the process of deliverance. No one can decide for you and no one can want it for you. In order to see true deliverance you are going to have to want it for yourself. It can’t be about the attention that you receive from others every time you talk about it or the initial power you feel from making the acknowledgement. This has to be a decision that you make knowing getting to it’s completion may be difficult and painful.
The fourth step is moving forward. Deliverance is a process. After you have completed the initial steps the real work begins. You have to begin to face the issue. Identify how you got to where you are. Forgive those who may have had a part in you present situation. True deliverance moves you past blaming people for what has happened. It moves you past pointing fingers and moves towards saying you are sorry for your part in the situation. True deliverance moves you to seeing the other people through God’s eyes and not your own. True deliverance moves you towards a heart of compassion for their issues, the reasons that they have done some of the things they have done. Allow God to begin to heal the hurt places in you. This will not be an overnight or 30 day process. Your process will take as long as it takes, but in order to receive your true and complete deliverance you will have to be obedient to what God tells you to do. You will need to spend time with God in Study of His Word, Prayer and Praise and Worship.
During your personal time with God, He will begin to peel off pieces of your past hurts. He will open up wounds that you thought had been healed a long time ago to show you that they were closed but not healed. In some cases they had even become infected. This reopening of wounds will be painful, which is why you had to make a decision that you wanted to be healed. Turning back from this point will place you in a position of having to acknowledge, admit and decide all over again. It is important that you press through in obedience at this point. Nobody likes do overs. You know the tests you take over because you did not do what was necessary to pass the test the first time.
I do not know where you are in your own personal deliverance at this time, but God has a plan for your life and the enemy has brought some junk into your life that you may need to be delivered from. If he has and in most of our lives he has today is the day to begin your deliverance. Start taking the necessary steps so that God can end your captivity and the things the enemy attempted to steal from you can be restored.
Weekly Scripture:
Jeremiah 29:11-14 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.
We just worked out spiritually. If you have not worked out your physical temple get up and put your video in or go for a walk, but do something. Remember to work out at least 3 times per week (20-30 minutes per day) to experience a New Beginning physically. Work out to music, workout and pray. Just workout.
