What Have You Accomplished?

Well, we are coming to the end of another year. It’s time to look back and honestly assess what has been accomplished.

Is my physical condition better than it was at the beginning of the year?

Are my emotions more under control than they were when I started the year?

What about my relationships? Are my relationships in better condition?
Have I overcome some of my relationship issues?

Have I grown in my relationship with God?

Our relationship with God is our key or foundational relationship. As that relationship grows it will affect all of our other relationships. The Holy Spirit living inside of me will convict me in areas that need to be convicted and help me to treat people the way God wants me to treat them. The Holy Spirit living inside me will help me root out sin that is trying to hide in my life.

How am I growing spiritually?

Am I spending more time with God allowing Him to speak to me and live His life through me?

Have I given Him control of the areas of my life that were totally in my control
a year ago, six months ago, or even a month ago?

Maybe you can see major improvements in all areas of your holistic fitness or maybe what you see looks like you haven’t made any progress at all. Whatever, state you find yourself we encourage you to remember that your opportunities to get it right are not over. Your chance to change your situation has not been obliterated. Every day that God allows you to see is one more opportunity for you to get it together. If you tried to do it on your own this year we encourage you to turn it over to God in 2007, recognizing that God has the power to lead you wherever He wants you to go, however, He wants us to give Him the authority to do it.

Before you start the new year we encourage you to take the Personal Assessment for holistic fitness found on the New Beginnings Website http://mynewtemple.org/90day/personal_assessment.doc. If you have taken the assessment previously we encourage you to take it again and compare where you are now to where you were when you took it before. If the new assessment does not show that you have made very much progress or as much progress as you thought, don’t be discouraged. None of us is a failure. Look toward 2007 with God leading you. If you have never taken it we encourage you to take it to get a handle on your current level of holistic fitness.

Which area of holistic fitness do you need to focus on for 2007, physical, spiritual, emotional or relational? Whatever has happened or not happened we encourage you to focus your attention not on the past or former things, but to focus on the new thing that God is doing and going to do with you. The year 2006 is almost behind us, finish it with power, but focus on the new thing God is going to do with you, the new body, the new mind, the new relationships (this includes old ones made new) and the new relationship with God that propels your spiritual life to the next level.

  Weekly Scripture

Isaiah 43:18-19: 18 “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. 19 For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
